Zhang Wenlei, Chairman of the China Chloro alkali Industry Association, pointed out that the stable development of the chlor alkali industry is facing severe challenges.
Zhang Peichao, Secretary General of the China Chloro Alkali Industry Association, stated that in the first quarter of this year, the problem of "alkali chlorine imbalance" was still relatively serious, and the rise in electricity prices caused a significant increase in operating costs for enterprises. The pressure to comply with international conventions continued to increase, and downstream consumption of polyvinyl chloride was sluggish.
In this regard, Zhang Wenlei believes that new concepts and technologies should be used to accelerate the technological transformation and process upgrading of the industry, and to deepen the work of technological innovation, energy conservation and carbon reduction, and green development; The system will do a good job in the production of various major chlorine and alkali consuming products such as chlorinated polyvinyl chloride, epichlorohydrin, and trichloroethylene. We will work together in terms of policy, technology, market expansion, and environmental protection and safety improvement, effectively promoting the alkali chlorine balance in the industry.
Zhang Wenlei further pointed out that firstly, it is necessary to systematically organize the formulation of standards and technological breakthroughs for the comprehensive utilization of waste salt in ion exchange membrane caustic soda, promote the combination of industry, academia, research and application, promote upstream and downstream industry cooperation, increase research and application efforts, and strive to make progress in more fields; The second is to focus on promoting the prevention and control of mercury pollution in PVC using calcium carbide method, and strictly follow the requirements of international conventions to promote the industry's mercury free process.
"The supply side structural reform should be the core of China's chlor alkali industry, with a focus on resolving overcapacity." Zhang Peichao said that enterprises should also study relevant industrial policies, including encouraging policies and technologies related to the chlor alkali industry, to promote industrial upgrading.
